My name is Fernando. I’m a self-taught painter born and raised in Caracas, based in Madrid. My art has been in constant evolution, but through it I try to express my deepest emotions, ideas, stories and concepts: feelings of isolations, nostalgia, the flick of time. I lean towards figurative, landscape with expressionists and surrealist elements; although my “style” is a sculpture in the making.
I find inspiration from everywhere: nature, love, experiences, other art forms, travel. Venezuela and the magical realism of that place is a root I always incline to. Although my work is shaped by my subjective experiences, in each painting I try to invoke multiple interpretations.

I also have a background in documentary journalism and music (I play the guitar and had an alternative rock band back in Caracas). But it’s with painting that I truly can express without limits that which I want to create.
